Construction Minister visits Ealing site
Lee Rowley, MP, visits our site in Ealing to learn more about the opportunities and challenges from the viewpoint of a SME construction company.
Kisiel Group hosted the Construction Minister and Brian Berry, CEO of the Federation of Master Builders.
During the tour of the site, a range of topics were discussed and Lee Rowley will be taking all he learnt back to the Department so that "we can continue to build a really strong construction sector in our country for the long term".

Meeting with senior advisors from four government departments, Annie was encouraged that they were keen to understand the direct impact that some of their poicy decisions would have on the SME building sites around the country.
Topics included boosting the skills base, responding to the Migration Advisory Committee's recommendations and future proposals to introduce licensing to the UK construction sector.

Meeting with the Prime Minister's Skills Advisor, Hannah Cook, was an opportunity to express the views of SMEs within the construction industry.
Topics covered were the current construction skills shortage, apprenticeship standards, T-levels, retraining those from other professions, and the post Brexit immigration system.
Annie keenly expressed ways in which the impact of the skills shortage in the industry could be reduced, in order to facilitate meeting the challenge of the government target for building new homes.

Launch of the 'Homes on our High Streets' Report
Back at the House of Lords, Lukasz is supporting the launch of the Federation of Master Builders Report - 'Homes on our High Streets'.
Hosted by Baroness Maddock, the event had cross party support, with speeches by Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, and John Healey MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Housing.
Lukasz uses the opportunity to promote how SMEs can help to play a part in the construction of more much needed homes in the local community.
